Arcipelago

(within Superterrestre)

The design matrix is based on a stratification of contrasts between curves and straight lines, following the teaching of van Eyck’s playgrounds: a rectangular intervention area is superimposed on the asphalt path, an artificial topography defines islands like an archipelago, and finally, interactive seating modules can be moved according to different needs.

Superterrestre, together with LegnoFresco, was commissioned to design a public space installation on the bank of the Arno, capable of transforming the asphalt of an unused road while also functioning as urban furniture.
